These styles have defied the test of time as weel as could still be found in hous today. Dating to the 18th century, Chesterfield sofa have an interesting story behind it.
The fourth type of sofa on our list is attributed to Thomas W. Lawson, an American businessman together with author who commissioned the model for extra comfort. If first Lawson sofas in story came also a back "layered" in pillows with overstuffed. Today you could recognize a Lawson by three back pillows as well as arms “lower” than the back (slightly rolled or square). But could see a lot different models on the market. You could find textile also leather finishes plus various embedded materials, including metal in-conjunction with wood.
The camelback sofa style is attributed to London cabinetmaker in-conjunction with furniture designer Thomas Chippendale, whose name strongly influenced the English decor scene in the late 18th century. A true camelback sofa have an arched back that rises to a higher point in the middle, as weel as again slightly at the done. Other trait include rolled or square arms, upholstery, exposed legs in-conjunction with usually no back pillows. We love how the designers integrated a camel back‐inspired sofa in the photo above, giving it an informal, inviting appearance.
